Open Access

South-east European forestry (SEEFOR) is a fully open-access journal. All articles published in the journal are freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.

The journal provides unrestricted access to full-text articles in PDF and HTML formats, in accordance with the principles of open access publishing.

Paper Processing Charges

SEEFOR does not charge any article processing or publication fees.

All editorial, production, and publication costs are covered by the Publisher and the Founding Institutions of the journal.

 

Copyright and Licensing

This policy applies to articles published from 2026 onwards.

Authors retain the copyright of their published work.

By submitting and publishing an article in South-east European Forestry, authors grant the Publisher (Croatian Forest Research Institute) a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the article as the original publisher.

All articles published in South-east European Forestry are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Author Rights

Authors retain the right to use their published work for scholarly, educational, and professional purposes, without requesting permission from the Publisher, provided that the original publication in South-east European forestry is properly cited. These rights include, but are not limited to, the right to:

  • use parts of the work as the basis for future publications,
  • publish revised or extended versions of the work,
  • include the work in theses or dissertations,
  • include the work in collected volumes or compilations,
  • expand the work into a book or book chapter,
  • use the work for teaching, classroom use, and conference presentations,
  • distribute the work to colleagues for research purposes,
  • deposit the work in institutional or funding agency repositories,
  • post the work on personal or institutional websites.


Author Responsibilities

As part of the submission process, the corresponding author, on behalf of all co-authors, is required to agree to the journal’s copyright and licensing terms.

The authors warrant that:

  • the submitted work is original and has not been previously published,
  • the manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere,
  • all third-party material is used with appropriate written permission from the copyright holder, where required.
