Transitions to Online-Only Publishing (from 2026)
5 January 2026
Starting in 2026, South-east European forestry (SEEFOR) will be published exclusively online. The printed edition of the journal has been discontinued as part of SEEFOR’s transition to a modern, fully digital publishing model.
The journal will continue to publish two issues per year and will adopt an online-first publication model, enabling the rapid dissemination of research while maintaining the journal’s established issue structure.
Accepted articles will be published in the Early View section in their final, fully peer-reviewed and copyedited form. Upon online publication, each article will be assigned complete bibliographic metadata, including volume, issue, year, DOI, and a unique Article ID, which replaces traditional page numbering. Early View articles can be read, cited, and indexed immediately after publication.
Twice a year, SEEFOR issues will be formally closed. This administrative step does not affect the content, citation details, or bibliographic metadata of the articles, which remain unchanged from their initial Early View publication.
This transition enhances accessibility, visibility, and the speed of scientific communication while maintaining SEEFOR’s high editorial standards.
